## What Is Sky Blue Radio Airlines?

Sky Blue Radio Airlines is the official virtual airline of Sky Blue Radio, the aviation and flight simulation radio station heard around the world.

Our airline gives flight sim pilots a place to fly scheduled routes, track hours, build rank, earn awards, participate in events, and be part of a growing aviation community. You can fly at your own pace, on your own schedule, using your favorite simulator and aircraft.

No pressure. No complicated airline politics. Just good flying, great people, and a whole lot of sky.

## Step 1: Create Your Pilot Account

To begin, register for a pilot account through the Sky Blue Radio Airlines website.

Once your account is approved, you will receive access to your pilot dashboard. This is where you can view available flights, file reports, track your hours, view your rank, and see your progress with the airline.

Please use accurate information when registering so we can properly manage pilot records and communications.

## Step 2: Select Your Starting Location

Once your pilot account is approved, you will be able to begin flying within the Sky Blue Radio Airlines route system.

Your starting location gives you a place to begin your journey, but Sky Blue Radio Airlines is designed to let pilots explore the network, build hours, and fly a variety of routes as schedules become available.

As the airline grows, new destinations, routes, aircraft, and operational areas may be added. Keep an eye on the route map and schedule section for the latest available flights.

Think of it as your first gate assignment. The adventure starts there, but the whole sky is still on the menu.

## Step 3: Review the Fleet

Our fleet includes a mix of short-haul, medium-haul, and long-haul aircraft. Depending on your rank and experience, you may be able to fly aircraft such as:

* Boeing 737-800
* Airbus A320
* Boeing 777-200ER
* Boeing 777-300ER
* Airbus A350-900
* Airbus A350-1000

Aircraft availability may depend on pilot rank, route structure, and airline operations. As you build hours, more aircraft and opportunities may become available.

## Step 4: Pick a Flight

Once logged into your pilot dashboard, browse the available schedules and choose a flight that works for you.

Each flight may include departure and arrival airports, flight number, aircraft type, distance, and estimated flight time. Select a route, prepare your flight plan, and get ready to launch.

You may use tools such as SimBrief, Navigraph, or your simulator’s built-in planning tools to prepare your flight.

## Step 5: Fly the Route

After selecting your flight, complete it using your preferred flight simulator.

Sky Blue Radio Airlines supports pilots who enjoy realistic operations, but we also understand that flight simulation is supposed to be enjoyable. Fly professionally, follow basic aviation procedures, and represent the airline well while in the skies.

Pilots are encouraged to fly online on networks such as VATSIM, IVAO, or PilotEdge when comfortable, but online network flying is not required unless specified for a special event.

## Step 6: File Your PIREP

After completing your flight, file your Pilot Report, also known as a PIREP.

Your PIREP records your flight time, route, aircraft, landing details, and other flight information. Once accepted, your hours will be added to your pilot profile and count toward your next rank.

Accurate PIREPs help keep the airline running smoothly and allow us to track activity across the network.

## Step 7: Build Your Rank

Sky Blue Radio Airlines uses a pilot rank system based on flight hours. As you fly more, you will move up through the ranks and unlock additional opportunities.

Ranks begin with new pilots and progress upward as flight hours are earned. The more you fly, the more you grow within the airline.

Every hour counts. Every flight matters. Even that one short hop where the autopilot had an existential crisis.

## Step 8: Earn Awards

Pilots can earn special awards and achievements for completing certain milestones, routes, events, or challenges.

Awards may include flight hour milestones, route achievements, aircraft-specific accomplishments, event participation, and special seasonal challenges.

Keep an eye on the awards section of the website. There will always be new reasons to fire up the engines and head out for another leg.

## Step 9: Join the Community

Sky Blue Radio Airlines is more than a schedule board. It is part of the larger Sky Blue Radio family.

We encourage pilots to listen to Sky Blue Radio while flying, participate in events, join community conversations, and connect with other aviation enthusiasts.

Sky Blue Radio has always been about bringing people together through aviation, music, and flight simulation. The airline continues that mission in the virtual skies.

## Pilot Expectations

All pilots are expected to:

* Treat other pilots, staff, controllers, and community members with respect
* File accurate PIREPs
* Fly routes in a reasonable and professional manner
* Follow event rules when participating in official events
* Represent Sky Blue Radio Airlines in a positive way
* Have fun and keep the spirit of aviation alive
